Expired Trials
The Expired Trials chart tracks the number of trial subscriptions that have ended without converting to a paid subscription. This metric provides insight into the trial-to-paid conversion rate and helps identify how many users didn’t continue after their trial period expired.
Calculation
Expired Trials are calculated by counting the number of trials that have passed their expiration date without the user converting to a paid subscription. This includes both users who didn’t renew their trial and those who chose not to upgrade to a paid plan.
Example: How Expired Trials are calculated
If your app had the following trial data:
- 200 users started a trial
- 50 of those did not convert to a paid subscription and their trial expired
The number of Expired Trials would be:
Expired Trials = 50
Usage
The Expired Trials metric is important for understanding the effectiveness of your trial-to-paid conversion efforts. A high number of expired trials can indicate issues with user engagement, the trial experience, or the perceived value of your paid plans.
To reduce Expired Trials in Botsi, consider these strategies:
- Conversion Incentives: Offer limited-time discounts or bonuses for users who convert before their trial expires.
- Engagement Campaigns: Send targeted reminders and in-app messages to users nearing the end of their trial to encourage them to upgrade to a paid subscription.
- Collect Feedback: Gather feedback from users whose trials expired without conversion to understand why they chose not to upgrade, and use the insights to improve your offerings.
