Revenue
The Revenue chart provides a comprehensive view of the total revenue earned from both subscriptions and one-time purchases, after accounting for any refunds. This visualization is essential for monitoring the financial health of your app and understanding its revenue streams over time.

Calculation
The Botsi Revenue chart calculates the total earnings generated by the app, subtracting refunded amounts. This includes both new revenue, which comes from a user’s first paid transaction, such as new subscriptions, first-time purchases (both consumable and non-consumable), and trial-to-paid conversions, as well as renewal revenue, which comes from ongoing paid transactions, including subscription renewals, promotional offers for existing users, and additional non-renewing purchases.
This revenue is calculated before accounting for store fees and taxes. The revenue for each transaction is attributed to the period in which it occurs, which can cause variations in the data based on the mix of subscription lengths being initiated or renewed. Refunds are treated as negative revenue and are assigned to the exact day they are processed, not the day the subscription started.
Usage
MRR is a vital metric for subscription-based businesses, reflecting both the size of your subscriber base and the revenue velocity. It standardizes different subscription durations into monthly recurring revenue, giving you a clear view of your growth.
To maximize MRR in Botsi, segment your subscribers by their first purchase month and set the resolution to monthly. This creates a stacked area chart that shows how cohorts evolve over time, revealing trends and helping you refine your strategy, optimize products, and adjust marketing efforts for growth.
