Fivepointfive onboarding screen 5: Three-way goal pick up front: endurance, mind, sleep5
Three-way goal pick up front: endurance, mind, sleep. 'You'll get a chance to build your personal plan across all three areas coming up' frames it as building a plan instead of answering a question. Whatever you tap here should show up in the paywall pitch later, so worth checking they actually echo it.

Class cards with real artists and songs (Benson Boone, Post Malone) make breathwork look like a Spotify playlist, not a meditation app. Smart for the athlete crowd they're going after, and 'science-backed breathwork designed for athletes' sets the premium frame early.

An AI coach reading your heart rate data back with specific numbers (100-106 bpm, vagal braking, CO2 tolerance). It's a demo of the post-purchase payoff before you've paid anything. The detail sells the personalization even if most users won't follow the physiology.

Multi-select on what you want help with: performance, immunity, stress, focus, energy, sleep. Good that it's multi-select, people come for more than one reason. This is zero-party data they can use to personalize the paywall copy and the first sessions.

'Breathing exercises increased stamina by 64% over 4 weeks' with a journal citation, dropped right after the goal questions. Reframes breathwork from soft wellness into a performance lever. The specific number and the source do the convincing.

#1 App for Breathwork laurels, 10,000 users, and a named runner testimonial all on one screen. Stacks authority, herd, and relatability. The quote is written in the target user's voice ('as a runner I need help with my lungs') rather than generic praise.

Reassurance right after asking your level: '54% of our users are new to breathwork.' Defuses the 'this isn't for me' worry that a self-rating question can trigger. Pairing the self-assessment with an immediate 'you belong here' is a nice sequence.

Expert endorsement from Patrick McKeown, billed as the world's no.1 functional breathwork expert and their lead advisor. Borrowed authority, and tying him to the app as an advisor makes it land as credible instead of a random pull quote.

Loss-aversion stat: poor breathing habits cost up to 7 years of life, per JAMA. Heavier than the performance stats earlier in the flow. It moves the pitch from 'perform better' to 'live longer,' which widens who this is for.

Asks assigned sex at birth, framed as optional ('if you'd like to share') and justified by biological relevance. A sensitive question handled with a reason and an opt-out, which lowers the friction of answering.

Fivepointfive onboarding screen 25: Time-per-session slider defaults low, 90 seconds25
Time-per-session slider defaults low, 90 seconds. Setting the expected commitment tiny makes the habit feel easy to start. '90 seconds a day' is a good objection-killer for the busy people this is aimed at.

A chart putting 5 min of breathwork above 30-60 min of cardio on VO2 max gains (11% vs 7% running). Bold claim, but it's exactly the result-per-effort argument an athlete cares about: more output for less time.

App Store rating prompt fired during the 'preparing your journey' loading, before the paywall. They ask while sentiment is highest, right after all the personalization and before any money talk. Good placement to capture reviews.

'We want you to try fivepointfive for free' with the class cards again and a big 'Start your 3 FREE days.' Leads with free and 'no payment now' to soften the ask. This is the runway into the actual price screen.

Fivepointfive paywall with pricing, onboarding screen 3939
The price screen. Three-day trial required to continue, annual defaulted at $89.99 struck through from $179.98 (50% off, 'most popular'), quarterly sitting cheaper as the decoy. The Today / in 2 days / in 3 days timeline tells you exactly when you'll be charged, which cuts the surprise-charge anxiety that drives refunds. Annual default with a trial also sends strong purchase signals to ad networks.

Fivepointfive onboarding screen 41: Hit close and you get a second offer: 56% off annual at $79.99, framed as a last-chance limited-time deal41
Hit close and you get a second offer: 56% off annual at $79.99, framed as a last-chance limited-time deal. Most people never buy on the first paywall, so a cheaper second ask picks up some of them. The 'limited time' line does the urgency work without an actual countdown.
