Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 1: ATT tracking prompt as the literal first screen, before they've seen anything — ATT tracking prompt as the literal first screen, before they've seen anything. Opt-in rates are best once someone feels value, so firing it cold here probably leaves attribution data on the table. I'd test pushing it past the first entry.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 3: Self-reported attribution survey — Self-reported attribution survey. With ATT killing deterministic tracking, asking 'how did you hear about us' is how you backfill channel data, especially word-of-mouth and TikTok that never show up in ad dashboards.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 4: Account creation before they've done anything, Apple or email only — Account creation before they've done anything, Apple or email only. Asking people to sign up before they feel any value is the classic dropout point. I'd let them write an entry first, then save it behind the signup.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 7: Priming screen before the iOS notification dialog — Priming screen before the iOS notification dialog. 'Building a habit is important' frames the ask around the user's benefit, so when the system prompt hits next they're already sold. Standard pre-permission move, and it lifts opt-in.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 10: A fake example circle showing Jack and Jill's gratitude entries — A fake example circle showing Jack and Jill's gratitude entries. It teaches the core mechanic by showing it instead of explaining, and it makes the shared-journal idea feel normal before they ask you to invite anyone.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 11: The invite loop, set up inside onboarding — The invite loop, set up inside onboarding. Getting you to create a circle and pull in a partner or family means every new user can bring more users, which lowers CAC. Right place to do it, while intent is highest.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 15: The actual invite ask with a prefilled code to share over text — The actual invite ask with a prefilled code to share over text. Putting the referral step in onboarding instead of a settings menu is how these apps grow. I'd watch what percent actually send an invite here, that number is your viral coefficient.

Lowering friction on the first real action gets people to the app's aha moment fast. Good.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 23: Right after the first entry, a dialog to anonymously share it to a public feed — Right after the first entry, a dialog to anonymously share it to a public feed. It seeds the community feed with content and frames sharing as low risk ('your name won't be displayed'). I'd test whether opting more people in is worth the privacy friction.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 24: Streak starts at day one plus a mood check-in — Streak starts at day one plus a mood check-in. Showing 'your longest streak: 1 day' immediately gives them something to protect, which is the habit hook. The mood selector also buys one more micro-interaction before the paywall.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 31: The paywall, fired after the first entry and streak — The paywall, fired after the first entry and streak. Yearly default with a 7-day trial and 'no payment now' to cut risk. 'Premium users report feeling 3X happier' is the one value claim doing the work. Placing it after they've actually used the app is the right call.

Gratitudeplus paywall with pricing, onboarding screen 32 — Three plans behind 'View All Plans': yearly, monthly, family. The $74.99 family plan fits the circle concept since this is a shared-with-family product. Hiding monthly behind a second tap nudges people to the annual default.

Gratitudeplus onboarding screen 33: Hit the X and you get a downsell: 50% off forever, $39.99 struck to $19.99, 'once you close it's gone.' Most… — Hit the X and you get a downsell: 50% off forever, $39.99 struck to $19.99, 'once you close it's gone.' Most people don't buy on the first paywall, so a cheaper second offer with a scarcity frame picks up some of them.

They sidestepped the blank-dashboard problem by making sure your first entry is sitting there waiting.
