11

Name input, 'what should we call you.' Zero-party data they reuse on the next screens ('nice to meet you Jacob,' 'looking dope Jacob'). Personalization that actually gets echoed downstream, which makes the app feel built for you.

12

13

Pick an avatar, then customize it. A cosmetic micro-commitment: small effort that raises buy-in and makes the app feel like yours.

14

15

16

Third cosmetic step in a row now: avatar, customize, and a few screens of color-theme picking. Customization builds investment, but this much back to back stretches an already long flow. I'd test cutting the color picker and watch completion.

23

'Over the last 12 months how often did you feel stressed or anxious,' with a 'strictly confidential' note underneath. A sensitive question softened by a reassurance line, which lowers the cost of answering honestly.

Vos onboarding screen 24: 'Have you been diagnosed with any of these mental health issues,' multi-select with a confidential note

24

'Have you been diagnosed with any of these mental health issues,' multi-select with a confidential note. Multi-select is right here, people have more than one. Heavy question this early, but the confidentiality line and the progress bar keep it moving.

26

Apple Health integration framed by the payoff first: 'see what activities lift your mood,' with a sample sleep-vs-mood chart, then 'Let's set it up' or 'Maybe later.' Asking for the permission by showing the benefit beats a cold system prompt, and keeping it optional means a no doesn't stall the flow.

Vos onboarding screen 27: Age via 'when were you born,' with a skip in the corner

27

Age via 'when were you born,' with a skip in the corner. Quick demographic for segmenting, and making it skippable avoids a dropout point on a question some people won't answer.

28

Awards screen: laurels around 'Millions of users choice,' '4.8 High-rated App 2023,' '5,000,000 Goals Achieved.' Another trust stack right before account creation. The laurel framing makes soft claims read like credentials.

Vos onboarding screen 29: Account creation lands here, deep in the flow, after the quiz and all the social proof

29

Account creation lands here, deep in the flow, after the quiz and all the social proof. Apple/Google/Facebook, no email to type. Pushing signup this late means they've invested before committing, which lowers dropout. The tradeoff is you lose the ones who bounce earlier.

38

Feature grid, 'the biggest set of features,' with unlimited and 1000+ counts on mood, journal, tests, breathing. Builds perceived value by breadth right before the paywall. It's all tell and no try, so it's claiming value rather than letting you feel it.

Vos onboarding screen 39: 'Preparing your personal plan' loading screen

39

'Preparing your personal plan' loading screen. Second staged pause to sell personalization, this one right before the money ask. Reinforces that something custom is being built for you.

41

Testimonial feed, 'millions of users,' with a wall of reviews all stamped '12min ago.' The fresh timestamps make the community feel alive and active. The recency is doing the work here.

42

Vos onboarding screen 43: 'Our reviews speak for themselves,' 4.8 from 16,000 reviews

43

'Our reviews speak for themselves,' 4.8 from 16,000 reviews. The count jumped from 28k a few screens back to 16k here, so the numbers aren't consistent across the flow. Rating plus volume right before the wall still props up the price.

Vos onboarding screen 44: 'Thousands of evidence-based exercises personalised for your need' right before the paywall

44

'Thousands of evidence-based exercises personalised for your need' right before the paywall. Last value push, and 'personalised' calls back to all the quiz answers. Good placement for the perceived-value setup ahead of the ask.

Vos paywall with pricing, onboarding screen 45

45

The paywall. 7-day free trial then $79.99/year broken down to '$6.67/month,' one plan, press logos up top, and a 'remind me before my trial ends' toggle on by default. The monthly math and the reminder both lower trial anxiety. 'I'm not interested' is honest but an easy clean exit, so I'd test a softer dismiss or a second offer instead of letting people walk.

Vos onboarding screen 46: Skip the paywall and you land on the real home with a 'VOS Premium, try now' card baked into the daily plan

46

Skip the paywall and you land on the real home with a 'VOS Premium, try now' card baked into the daily plan. The paywall isn't the only shot, and the upsell lives in context where you'll feel the locked features.

Vos onboarding screen 47: ATT tracking prompt fires once you're already inside, not up front

47

ATT tracking prompt fires once you're already inside, not up front. Asking after they've committed lifts opt-in, and the custom line sells it as 'a better and personalised ad experience.'

Guided app tour instead of dropping you on a blank home: 'the unique AI-powered wellbeing plan tailor made to fit your daily routine.' Walking new users to the first action is the right activation instinct, though this tour runs long.

70

An AI chat opening with 'can you tell me a bit more about what you've been experiencing,' surfacing 'our team of licensed counselors are just a chat away.' Positions human counselors as the hook behind the chat, which is a real differentiator if it's staffed.

75

'If you find yourself in a mental health crisis, just shake your phone' to open a first-aid kit. A useful, memorable mechanic tied to a physical gesture. For a mental health app it also signals they take safety seriously, which builds trust.

88

'Begin your journey with VOS now and take the first step.' Worth stepping back here: this flow is 95 screens, with a huge post-paywall tour. Plenty of it is sharp, but the back half tells a lot. I'd test trimming the tour and getting people to one real action sooner.
