Continue with Email and Continue with Apple sit right on the first value-prop screen, so you're asked to create an account before you've done anything. Highest intent is now, sure, but for a couples app that needs a partner to work, gating signup this early risks dropout. I'd test letting people swipe the three value props first, then ask.

Asks your partner's first name early so the rest of the flow can say 'Erica' instead of 'your partner.' Cheap personalization that makes the later screens feel built for the two of you specifically.

Paired onboarding screen 13: Onboarding opens with a game, You or Me13
Onboarding opens with a game, You or Me? Turn-Ons, instead of a pitch. 'Learn more about your partner to deepen your connection,' 10 questions. Value before the paywall and it's interactive, so you're investing instead of tapping next. Good way to show what the product actually is.

Paired onboarding screen 16: First game question is about turn-ons16
First game question is about turn-ons. Going straight to intimacy signals what Paired is really for and it sticks, but it's a bold opener for someone who installed two minutes ago. I'd test a softer first question to ease people in, then escalate.

Paired onboarding screen 20: Partner pairing with a share link and an invite code20
Partner pairing with a share link and an invite code. This is the growth loop: every new user is pushed to pull in a second person, so acquisition partly funds itself. For a two-person product it's also core to activation since you can't really use it solo. I'd make this even harder to skip.

Before the system permission prompt they show a fake notification preview, 'Erica answered a couple quiz, tap to view.' Priming the actual benefit right before the OS dialog lifts opt-in rates, and it's framed around your partner's activity rather than the app.

Paired onboarding screen 24: Asks your anniversary to drop onto the shared timeline and trigger anniversary reminders24
Asks your anniversary to drop onto the shared timeline and trigger anniversary reminders. Zero-party data that doubles as a retention hook: a reason to pull you back months from now. Framed as a benefit, not a form field.

Paired onboarding screen 27: 'How did you hear about Paired' with a long source list, TikTok, podcast, influencer, therapist27
'How did you hear about Paired' with a long source list, TikTok, podcast, influencer, therapist. This is a self-reported attribution survey for their marketing team, not for you. Fine to keep, just put it where it won't kill momentum since it gives the user nothing.

Paired onboarding screen 30: 'What brings you to Paired,' multi-select across communication, conflict, sex and intimacy, finances30
'What brings you to Paired,' multi-select across communication, conflict, sex and intimacy, finances. Good that it's multi-select, couples rarely have just one issue. This is the personalization input, so the real test is whether these picks resurface in the paywall or the recommended content.

Paired paywall with pricing, onboarding screen 3535
Paywall defaults to an annual plan with a 7-day trial, $39.99 a year shown as $3.33 a month. The hook is 'Your partner gets Premium for free,' so one subscription covers two people, which reframes the price as half and leans on the partner you just invited. The Today / Day 5 / Day 7 timeline spells out the charge date to lower trial anxiety.

Post-paywall home leads with 'Paired works best when you pair with your partner, invite my partner' plus three starter conversations. Solid activation: instead of a blank dashboard it points you at a first task and re-surfaces the invite. The aha needs the partner, so nudging it again here makes sense.

The timeline tour shows memory cards, trips, birthdays, 'became a couple.' It's selling the long-term reason to stay: a shared history that gets more valuable the longer you both use it. A retention pitch baked into onboarding.
