Pre-checked terms box and a 'Get started' that drops you into the flow, not a signup wall. 'Learn sign language the easy way' sets the promise. Account creation comes later. Getting people moving before asking for anything keeps the funnel wide.

A modal that makes you do a real lesson before going further: 'Complete a quick lesson before we continue.' This is show, don't tell. You feel yourself learning a sign instead of reading a value prop. Skip is there, but most people will tap Continue.

Straight into a video of someone signing 'Hello.' First real value, and it's the actual product, not an explainer. For a sign-language app this is the aha: you can see yourself learning in the first minute.

'+70' points right after the first correct answer, with a balance that's already moving. Cheap to build, and the reward makes the next quiz feel worth doing.

Signlab Asl Bloom onboarding screen 17: Match-the-sign exercise17
Match-the-sign exercise. Interactive recall instead of tap-tap-tap. Making the user produce the answer raises engagement and makes the free lesson feel like progress, which is what justifies the price later.

Multiple choice 'what is being signed here' across several signs you just learned. Stacking a few question formats into one free lesson makes it feel like a real course, not a demo.

'Why do you want to learn?' with reasons like deaf/hoh friend, child, work, curious. Good zero-party data, but it's single-select and it's late. Plenty of people learn for a relative and for work, so I'd make it multi-select. I'd also move it earlier so the lesson and paywall copy can echo the reason back.
Signlab Asl Bloom onboarding screen 39: Instructors screen: 'learn from our all Deaf signing team,' with credentials like CDI and ASLPI 4+39
Instructors screen: 'learn from our all Deaf signing team,' with credentials like CDI and ASLPI 4+. Authority and premium positioning for a category where teaching quality is the whole question. Earns the price better than a generic feature list.
Signlab Asl Bloom onboarding screen 40: Email signup lands here, deep in the flow, after the free lesson40
Email signup lands here, deep in the flow, after the free lesson. Framed as 'so you don't loose your learning progress' so the account feels like protecting what you just earned, not a gate. Asking this late trades some captured leads for lower dropout, which is the right call once you've delivered value.

'Premium subscribers help us provide sign language education for additional countries.' Mission framing right before the paywall, reframing paying as supporting access rather than just buying features. Good priming for an altruism-friendly audience.
Signlab Asl Bloom onboarding screen 44: Paywall fires here, after the lesson and signup44
Paywall fires here, after the lesson and signup. Annual default at $99 ($8.25/mo) tagged 'best value,' no trial, feature list, X to close, 'view all plans' tucked below. No trial sends a stronger purchase signal to ad networks and avoids trial leakage. The bullets are task-y ('unlimited practice with quizzes'); I'd make them benefit-led.
Signlab Asl Bloom paywall with pricing, onboarding screen 4646
'View all plans' opens a 3-month option at $48 ($16/mo) next to the annual at $8.25/mo. The shorter plan is the decoy, priced per month so the annual obviously wins. Classic anchor.
Signlab Asl Bloom onboarding screen 47: Soft notification ask ('keep on top of your learning with regular reminders') before the native iOS prompt47
Soft notification ask ('keep on top of your learning with regular reminders') before the native iOS prompt. Pre-priming like this protects your real allow rate. I'd make the benefit more specific than 'regular reminders,' like keeping the streak alive.

Home doubles as a share prompt: 'someone you know may want to learn ASL too, sharing is caring.' A referral nudge at the activation moment. If even 10% share, that's CAC down 10%. I'd test firing it after a completed lesson or a streak hit, when goodwill is highest.
Signlab Asl Bloom onboarding screen 50: Free home with locked lessons and an 'Unlock all' card under the unlocked greetings lesson50
Free home with locked lessons and an 'Unlock all' card under the unlocked greetings lesson. Freemium as contextual upsell: you see exactly what you'd get, and the wall shows up when you reach for it. Higher intent than a cold paywall.

1-day streak screen with the week laid out and Mon checked. Streaks and the goal gradient pull people back, and starting the count at day one gives them something to protect. Duolingo-style hook, fitting since the reviews literally compare them to Duolingo.

Second paywall leads with the 4.9 App Store rating and real review quotes, one calling it 'Duolingo but with video.' Same plan, social proof stacked on top. Most people don't buy on the first paywall, so a testimonial-heavy re-ask picks up some who bounced.
