"Choose the right products. Every time." then Get Started vs I Already Have An Account. No email or signup upfront, so they push high-intent users straight into the quiz and defer account creation. Good call for keeping completion high.

Olive onboarding screen 4: A testimonial card from 4
A testimonial card from "Mike D" before they've even asked you anything. The copy leans on the enemy frame: "finally an app not bought by corporations," "not loaded with seed oils." Picking a villain (big food, seed oils) early gives the whole flow an us-vs-them charge.
Olive onboarding screen 5: 5
"What is your #1 priority?" with options like eat healthier, boost energy, feed my family. Single-select goal capture this early is zero-party data they can echo at the paywall. I'd test whether "feed my family" routes into the parent-heavy testimonials later, since that segment clearly converts for them.
Olive onboarding screen 6: 6
"92% of users report olive helped them discover healthier alternatives." Dropping a stat right after the goal question confirms you picked the right app. Cheap reassurance that keeps people moving.

Olive onboarding screen 10: The Olive Pledge: 10
The Olive Pledge: "we commit to NEVER taking a single penny from ANY brand to alter their score." Trust positioning before the ask. For an app whose whole premise is "who do you believe about your food," credibility is the product, and they spend a full screen on it.

"Which food additives do you want to avoid most?" with seed oils, artificial additives, heavy metals, all of the above. Multi-select here is right since people avoiding seed oils usually care about the rest too. They use it to promise "personalized alerts" on screen 16, which is the right payoff.

Olive onboarding screen 13: A side-by-side of a clean ingredient list vs one with high fructose corn syrup13
A side-by-side of a clean ingredient list vs one with high fructose corn syrup. Showing instead of telling, with the punchline "our food isn't what it used to be." This is the kind of concrete proof that does more than another bullet point.
Olive onboarding screen 14: The notification permission fires mid-sentence under a shock stat about testosterone deficiency and seed oils14
The notification permission fires mid-sentence under a shock stat about testosterone deficiency and seed oils. Asking right when fear is highest lifts opt-in rates, but stapling the prompt to a scary claim is aggressive. I'd test framing the ask by benefit ("alerts when we find a cleaner swap") instead.

"We're setting everything up for you, personalizing your scanning interface." A loading screen to show the work being done for you and make the personalization feel earned.
Olive onboarding screen 18: 18
"Congratulations, your custom grocery companion is ready" with named safeguards: toxin alerts, hidden ingredient radar, smart swap finder. Packaging the quiz answers as a personalized result gives the questions a payoff instead of leaving the user with nothing to show.

Olive onboarding screen 20: A before/after of life with and without olive: 20
A before/after of life with and without olive: "bloating, brain fog, energy crashes" vs "95% of harmful additives blocked, 2x faster grocery trips." The numbers are survey-sourced and soft, but the before/after frame builds the value gap right before the price.

Olive onboarding screen 22: A native star-rating prompt dropped in front of the paywall, stacked on top of glowing testimonials22
A native star-rating prompt dropped in front of the paywall, stacked on top of glowing testimonials. Asking for the review while sentiment is peaking, before you've seen the price, is the right moment to capture ASO. Smart to do it here rather than after the wall.

"Your subscription directly funds lab testing... holding big brands accountable," with General Mills, Cerebelly, Whole Foods logos. They reframe paying from a cost into joining a movement against big food. For this audience that's a stronger reason to pay than any feature list.
Olive onboarding screen 25: Paywall defaults to Yearly at $3.33/mo with a 7-day trial, monthly $7.99 sitting next to it as the anchor25
Paywall defaults to Yearly at $3.33/mo with a 7-day trial, monthly $7.99 sitting next to it as the anchor. "Less than $0.85 per grocery run" reframes the annual price into a trivial per-use number. Testimonials and the rating sit right above the plans so social proof carries the ask.

Olive onboarding screen 29: A second paywall config: monthly default with a 3-day trial, reframed as 29
A second paywall config: monthly default with a 3-day trial, reframed as "less than $2.00 per grocery run." Same screen, different default and trial length from screen 25, so they're clearly testing trial length and plan default. Worth watching which one wins on trial-to-paid, not just trial starts.
