Plantin onboarding screen 2: 'Welcome to PlantIn

2

'Welcome to PlantIn! Become a Plant Hero.' Identity framing on the first screen. You're not getting a plant app, you're becoming someone who's good with plants.

Plantin onboarding screen 3: Four value prop screens with a Skip in the corner

3

Four value prop screens with a Skip in the corner. Standard carousel, and the Skip is the right call. People who need convincing will read them, people who already decided can get past.

Signup before any use, four auth options. 'Stay with your plants forever!' at least explains why the account exists, which is more than most flows bother with.

Plantin paywall with pricing, onboarding screen 14

14

Lifetime at $49.99 down from $99.99, against a 3 day trial then $7.99 weekly, and the weekly plan is the one preselected. Weekly annualises to roughly $415, so they're steering you off the option that's cheaper after seven weeks. That's a deliberate lifetime-value call, not an oversight. The 'Remind me before the trial ends' toggle sits underneath, same as Rock Identifier in this batch.

Plantin onboarding screen 15: 'We've set up a plant for you

15

'We've set up a plant for you! Try identifying our plant to see how easy it is.' Best idea in the flow. The blocker on a plant identifier is needing a plant in front of you, so they hand you one. The first identification always succeeds and the aha moment stops depending on what's in the user's living room.

Plantin onboarding screen 16: 'Tap here to identify' as a coach mark on the camera button, with the moon phase and 0 plants sitting above it

16

'Tap here to identify' as a coach mark on the camera button, with the moon phase and 0 plants sitting above it. One instruction pointing at one control.

Plantin onboarding screen 17: Notification primer that lists what you actually get: care reminders, expert help, offline identification…

17

Notification primer that lists what you actually get: care reminders, expert help, offline identification results, weather. Specific beats 'stay updated', and your own screen in front of the system dialog is the only control you have over that prompt.

Plantin onboarding screen 18: A real community feed on day one, with actual posts like 'my avocado tree is wilting and idk what to do'…

18

A real community feed on day one, with actual posts like 'my avocado tree is wilting and idk what to do' sitting at 'waiting for answer'. The app is already full of other people before you've done anything. Hard to fake, and it's why user-generated categories defend themselves so well.

Plantin onboarding screen 24: Search is a browsable plant catalog with a + on every card

24

Search is a browsable plant catalog with a + on every card. Even with zero plants of your own there's something to do here. Compare to Plantum in this same batch, which drops you into two empty states back to back.

Plantin onboarding screen 29: 'Free Premium Available

29

'Free Premium Available. Tap to claim.' pinned in the menu once you've declined. Same recovery move as Rock Identifier: reframe a declined paywall as an unclaimed gift instead of an upsell.

Plantin onboarding screen 35: Light meter and watering calculator as free tools alongside the paid diagnosis

35

Light meter and watering calculator as free tools alongside the paid diagnosis. Giving away the utilities and charging for the expertise is a clean line, and the free tools are the reason to open the app on a day you don't need a diagnosis.
