Enable Developer APIs

Botsi uses three Google APIs for a Play Store integration. Enable all of them in the Google Cloud Console:

  • Google Play Android Developer API: purchase and subscription data.
  • Google Play Developer Reporting API: reporting data.
  • Cloud Pub/Sub API: the transport behind Real-Time Developer Notifications.

If your app is not distributed through the Play Store, skip this page entirely.

Enabling each API#

  1. Open the Google Cloud Console.
  2. In the sidebar, go to APIs & Services → Library.
  3. Search for Google Play Android Developer API and open it.
  4. Choose Enable.
  5. Confirm the status now reads Enabled.

Repeat for the Google Play Developer Reporting API and the Cloud Pub/Sub API.

Cloud Pub/Sub is what carries RTDN

It is easy to skip as the one that sounds unrelated to purchases. Real-Time Developer Notifications are delivered over Pub/Sub, so leaving it disabled means Botsi never hears about renewals, cancellations, or billing problems from Google.
