Apple App Privacy

Apple requires every new and updated app to disclose its privacy practices. Because Botsi handles purchase data and interacts with third-party services, some of those answers depend on what Botsi collects. This page covers which data types apply.

Which data types apply#

Purchases is the only unconditional one. The three "maybe" rows depend on choices you made, not on Botsi.

Declaring Purchases#

You must indicate in App Store Connect's App Privacy section that your app collects purchase information.

Purchase history usage. At minimum, acknowledge that your app records purchase details to validate transactions, prevent fraud, and enable entitlements.

Linking purchase history to identity. Select No if you use anonymous IDs in Botsi and never link purchase data to personal information. Select Yes if your app links purchase history to identifiable users, such as by email address.

Tracking purchases. Disclose this if any third-party tool or integration tracks users by purchase history or uses it for advertising. Botsi does not use purchase data to track users across apps unless you explicitly configure it to.

Declaring Identifiers#

If you linked purchase history to a user's identity, disclose the identifier types your app uses:

Custom app IDs: select User ID.
Advertising identifiers such as IDFA: select Device ID.

Apple then shows a preview of your privacy details. Once the disclosures are final, you can submit for review.

These answers describe your app, not Botsi

The table above says what Botsi collects on its own. Your app's own collection stacks on top: adding an analytics SDK, or an email field at signup, changes your answers regardless of how Botsi is configured.

Re-check the questionnaire when you add a dependency, not only when you change Botsi settings.
