Grant Permissions

Creating a service account is not enough on its own. It also has to be invited into your Google Play Console with the right permissions, or Botsi can authenticate but not read anything.

Create the service account first. See Connect to Google Play.

Granting the permissions#

  1. From the Google Play Console dashboard, go to Users and Permissions.
  2. Open the three-dot menu and choose Invite new users.
  3. Enter the email address of the service account you created.
  4. In Permissions, open the Account Permissions tab.
  5. Select all four:
    • View app information and download bulk reports (read-only)
    • View financial data, orders, and cancellation survey responses
    • Manage orders and subscriptions
    • Manage store presence
  6. Choose Invite User, then Send invite.

The service account appears in the user list.

All four are needed, and a missing one fails quietly

Each covers a different part of what Botsi does: reading app and Product information, reading revenue, managing subscription state, and store presence.

Granting only some of them produces an integration that connects successfully and then reports incomplete data, which is harder to diagnose than an outright authentication failure.
