Google Play Data Safety

Google requires every developer to declare how their app collects and handles user data. Because Botsi records purchase history, an app using it collects Financial info, and the Data Safety form has to say so.

This page covers the answers that follow from using Botsi. Anything your own app collects stacks on top.

Declaring the data type#

Under Data types, select Purchase history in the Financial info category.

Data collection and security#

Answer Yes to all four:

  • Does your app collect or share any of the required user data types?
  • Is all of the user data collected by your app encrypted in transit?
  • Does your app collect or share any of the required data types?
  • Do you provide a way for users to request that some or all of their data be deleted, without requiring them to delete their account?

The encryption answer is Yes because everything your integration sends travels over HTTPS with TLS. See Data Security.

Third-party integrations can turn Collected into Shared

Collected is the right answer for Botsi on its own. But if you have set up integrations between Botsi and third parties that do not qualify as service providers, that data is being shared, and the declaration has to say Shared as well.

Review this whenever you add an integration.

Google shows a preview of your app's privacy section once the selections are made.
